Willow Green Farm, Truro, Cornwall
Contracts have been exchanged with Asda for a 78,000 sq ft store subject to planning.
LXB has acquired two options on approximately 70 acres of land to the west of Truro at Threemilestone. The land has been identified by Cornwall Council in their Development Brief as being suitable for development to create a significant housing scheme to meet the chronic housing land supply shortage in the City along with a district centre, major road improvements and other community facilities.
LXB have submitted a planning application at Willow Green to the west of Truro. The proposal includes 435 houses (35% affordable), a 60 bed nursing home, a Primary school, Community hall and a public house/restaurant, whilst Asda are the named flagship operator for a proposed foodstore. The site will provide open space and outdoor sports facilities to the local community as well as creating 500 jobs.
The development offers strategic road infrastructure providing access directly from the A390 and delivering the central component of the proposed Northern Access Road. In March 2015, Cornwall Council resolved to grant planning permission for the proposed scheme. Once the consent has been formally issued a reserved matter planning application will be submitted for Phase 1.
